Bill and Nancy Blanski will lead us for a couple hours on an afternoon to quiet our hearts and minds by spending concerted time with beautiful art at Mia. Meet at the bookstore entrance, and bring a journal and a pen.

Sessions: Bread for the Journey

Did you know there are over 300 references to bread in the Bible? What is it about bread that has made it a symbol of life for centuries? Bread has much to teach us about our own life and spiritual journey. This workshop will show how the process of making bread corresponds to our transformation into Christlikeness (Gal. 4:19) – a process that takes time, patience, and understanding. Specifically, we will look at the rhythms of simplicity, rest, balance, pain, and contentment as we grow and learn….all through the experience of making your own loaf of fresh Challah bread to take home. Bring an apron of you have one, otherwise we will provide one for you! This event takes about 3.5 hours. *limited to 7 participants*

'Baptism in the Anglican Tradition' class

This will be a casual time of teaching intended for those who have questions about baptism in our tradition, especially as it pertains to our understanding of infant baptism.

This class draws heavily from “It Takes a Church to Baptize” by Scot McKnight. McKnight is an Anglican pastor, theology professor, and grandparent who is writing specifically to those who are new to the tradition. His book is a theologically rich yet incredibly accessible read. Don’t feel like you need to read it beforehand, but if you would like to borrow a copy, let us know!

The Critical Journey

Join us for a conversation on the material presented in book, The Critical Journey (reading it is NOT required). Life is full of transitions. Christians throughout the centuries have noticed that even though each person has a unique walk with God, there are amazing similarities to the phases we pass through as we mature in Christ. Understanding these stages can give us strength and comfort in accepting where we and others are on the spiritual journey.
