Did you know there are over 300 references to bread in the Bible? What is it about bread that has made it a symbol of life for centuries? Bread has much to teach us about our own life and spiritual journey. This workshop will show how the process of making bread corresponds to our transformation into Christlikeness (Gal. 4:19) – a process that takes time, patience, and understanding. Specifically, we will look at the rhythms of simplicity, rest, balance, pain, and contentment as we grow and learn….all through the experience of making your own loaf of fresh Challah bread to take home. Bring an apron of you have one, otherwise we will provide one for you! This event takes about 3.5 hours. *limited to 7 participants*

Sometimes it helps to find refreshing ways to seek God and to see what He wants to communicate to us. Like Lectio Divina is sitting with Scripture, so Visio Divina is sitting with art. Bill and Nancy Blanski will lead us for a couple hours on an afternoon to quiet our hearts and minds by spending concerted time with beautiful art at Mia. Meet at the bookstore entrance, and bring a journal and a pen.
No RSVP necessary.

We will enjoy each other’s company, we will take photos, and we will eat yummy food. No experience necessary for the photo part. A camera or a smartphone will do. I’m thinking Zen Box Izakaya for a late dinner, Japanese comfort food; but I’m open to suggestions in the area.
