MAUNDY THURSDAY marks the events surrounding the Last Supper, where Jesus, after washing the disciples feet in the upper room, said, “A new commandment [Latin: mandatum, ie. Maundy] I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”Take part in this beautiful service at home with your friends and family.
It is also our tradition to hold an all-night prayer vigil on the night that our Lord asked his disciples to sit with him while he prayed on the Mount of Olives. Consider spending an hour in prayer from home.
