Welcome!

Restoration heartily welcomes children in our midst. We are honored to partner with parents, grandparents, godparents, and all caregivers in the incredible charge of raising children to know, experience and share the love of God in Jesus. We believe God desires a relationship with children from their earliest days, and that our faith community is strengthened by their presence. We take seriously our calling to proclaim God’s goodness to the next generation.

Three values we hope to instill in all children are:

  • God Made You on Purpose (Gen 1 & Psalm 139)

  • He Loves You Completely (1 John 4)

  • He Goes with You Everywhere (Matt 28)

These values are truths that we want buried deep into the hearts of our children, especially as they explore the riches of the gospel and go into the wider world.

We look forward to partnering with you as we seek to instruct and love children in the name of Jesus!

Sunday Morning Check-in

Our Children’s Ministry Check-In kiosks are located in both the Main and North Lobbies. They open 15 minutes before service.

Classes

All classes are offered at both services. The classrooms are ready to receive children 10 minutes before service time.

  • Room 102 on the Main Level

The nursery children (6 months through age 3) are shown the love of Jesus with open arms for hugging, laps for reading, and tunes for singing. When children arrive, they get busy playing with blocks, baby dolls, books, and trucks. During circle time, children hear a Bible story retold in simple language that young children can understand. Each child receives prayer from a volunteer (indicated by the sticker on their backs) and they end their time together by cleaning up, before reconnecting with their caregivers. The volunteers are warm and welcoming, their attention and love provides a place of God’s safety and trust to these precious hearts.

  • Room 101 on the Main Level

What is God’s big story? How is he asking me to be a part of his story? Our preschoolers adventure through the Bible together, looking for how Jesus is in each part, giving us hope and showing us love in action. Our lessons incorporate storytelling, faith modeling, and responses for different learning styles. During class we will play, sing, listen, pray, act it out, and be sent back to our families to keep learning and growing!

  • Room 002 on the Lower Level

Wonder is at the heart of the K-1 classroom: both wondering, asking questions with a curious mind and an open heart, and wonder, experiencing awe at the way that God has come close to His people in the long ago and the here-and-now. In this class, children are invited to enter into the Christian story physically, spiritually, and imaginatively. They gather together to hear a story about God’s interaction with His people and then respond individually in a variety of ways—whether that be drawing, modeling with clay, or retelling the story for themselves using story materials. Our time ends in a moment for each child to receive a blessing. In this class, we seek to encourage the children’s natural ability to connect to God and to each other.

  • Room 001 on the Lower Level

In the 2-3rd grade classroom, students and teachers dig deeper into the stories in Scripture. We believe that faith is fueled by wonder and curiosity, so you’ll see those two values in the classroom. Through asking questions and wondering about how the stories in Scripture apply to their lives now, students will take what they learn into their homes and communities. We also pray that children in 2-3rd grade will deepen their friendships and connections with one another and the church body.

  • Room 003 on the Lower Level

Everyone loves a good story. A good story takes you places you’ve never been and introduces you to people you’ve never met. A good story sticks with you and can even change the way you think. The Bible is full of amazing stories, inspired by God, that have been told and retold countless times. Over the course of two years, the 4th-5th grade class experiences the stories of the Old and New Testament through Chronological Biblical Storying. We listen, retell, wonder, and look for connections to the bigger story – God’s story. Our hope is for the children to realize their individual roles in God’s story, to make it their own, and to share His love with others. One way we encourage this is by offering multiple opportunities for these youth to serve the broader church throughout the year.
