Staff Team

Rick Stawarz

  • Hello! I have the privilege of leading Restoration. I’m married to Molly Jo, and together we have four vivacious children. I went to Wheaton College and Beeson Divinity School. Prior to planting Restoration, I pursued a career in technology; starting at Apple, launching my own business, and then overseeing academic tech at a school. Serving Restoration is such a joy, and I’d love to get together over a cup of light roast coffee sometime.

Ashley May

  • Are you new to Restoration? So am I. I recently moved to the Twin Cities to serve Restoration as a Deacon and Pastor of Community Life. On any given Sunday, you will see me aiding in the worship service, welcoming newcomers, leading the women’s ministry, and otherwise making connections within our community. Contact me about visiting Restoration, joining a Table Group, and finding your home here.

Aaron Van Luven

  • Hey folks! It’s my joy to work with our Youth and Adult formation. I grew up pentecostal and attended North Central (MPLS) for undergrad and St. Andrews (UK) for postgrad. Prior to Restoration, our family served on a church planting team in the Horn of Africa.

I’m into making maple syrup, hunting/fishing, and consuming a diverse array of podcasts. But my proudest accomplishment is being Laura’s husband and Tegan, Rowan, Soren, Finan and Colin’s dad.

Derek Boemler

  • Hi, I’m Derek. Throughout the history of the church, Christians have sung together wherever they are gathered and I am honored to take part in helping Restoration continue that tradition. In addition to curating worship services here, I also aim to help people with artistic vocations and longings use their spiritual gifts and talents as a witness for Christ and for the beautification of the world. If you are interested in music or any of the arts, I’d love to have a chance to meet with you.

Emily Collings

  • I’m honored to enter into the stories and wonder of God alongside children at Restoration. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, my husband and I moved to Minneapolis to enjoy the great restaurants and beautiful lakes this city has to offer. I love a book you can’t set down, walks, and large cups of coffee! My husband Kevin and I work hard to keep up with our twin girls, Quinnlynn and Eleanor and our active little boy, Gabriel.

  • Who’s my neighbor, really? And how do I love them? These are the questions that animate my work and keep me up at night. My primary focus at Restoration is connecting the church to the needs of the world, whether that’s just down the street or halfway across the globe. This means I’m perpetually learning, listening, and developing relationships, all things I love to do! In my spare time, I dream of epic road trips, add gobs of books to my “to-read” pile, lazily stroll through garden centers, and enjoy crushing my family in board games.

Carrie Moseman

  • I love serving Restoration behind the scenes managing Sunday Teams, communications, and administration. I left my southern home to attend Wheaton College and Covenant Seminary and have stayed in the midwest with my husband, Bart, working in college ministry (Lincoln, NE) and church planting (St. Paul). We have four active, almost all adult kids. When I’m not cheering for one of them in a sporting event, I enjoy taking long walks, baking for a crowd, and reading historical fiction.

Parish Council

The Parish Council (aka Vestry) is the church's governing board that is “responsible for the temporalities of the congregation and, except where otherwise provided by canon, supports the clergy in the spiritual leadership of the congregations.” You can learn more about the qualifications, responsibilities, and nomination process of the Parish Council in Section 6 of our Bylaws.

Parish Council members are Lizzy Byer, Ken Geis (Warden), Marianne Kenfield, Kevin Kreisel (Treasurer), Dana Nyquist (Secretary), and Rick Stawarz (Rector, non-voting member). The Council usually meets on the third Wednesday of the month.

Chancellor

The parish chancellor is a lawyer who advises the Rector and Parish Council, on governance, ecclesiastical matters, and legal matters. The chancellor does not formally represent the church in civil legal matters, except by explicit separate agreement. Upon request, the chancellor may also advise the Rector and Parish Council on other areas including leadership, policies, personnel, or related church functions.

Restoration Anglican is a part of the Diocese of the Rocky Mountains, a diocese within the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA).

Bp. Ken serves Restoration by providing pastoral oversight, wise direction, accountability, and gentle care for the clergy. We count ourselves fortunate to receive from him according to the good gifts God has given him.
