Restoration’s Good Friday offering this year will be going toward Questscope, a social development organization, with a vision to “put the last, first.” Join us after the service to hear from Questscope’s founder, Curt Rhodes, about their 30 years of work in the Middle East and how they are currently providing relief to Syrians affected by last month’s devastating earthquakes.

This is an opportunity to meet neighbors where they are at and display the light of Christ through the fellowship of our congregation. We are hosting a hot cider and candy station on the front lawn as an act of hospitality. Let us know if you would like to help prep and serve this night.

David and Gail recently shared a brief update about their work in Kenya. They would like to invite anyone who would be interested to hear more and get a deeper perspective of the missions world. They will share stories, answer questions, and expound more about the mission they had the honor of serving with, and the amazing things God has been doing both in Kenya, and around the world.

You won’t want to miss this Sunday as we hear from our special guests Somos Familia, the Latino/multicultural ministry of our diocese, and Father Jonathan Kindberg.

God is at work in the Latino community in our Diocese. As neither black nor white but sharing in many of the experiences of both, Latinos have a unique gifting and calling as a racial and cultural bridge. As the US enters a renewed period of racial unrest we have an opportunity to be led by the Latino leaders in our Diocese. Come to lunch and/or to the ministry presentation and be inspired by how God is moving us toward greater multicultural familia through these Latino leaders.

It is hard to sort out politics in our polarized world, and it isn’t getting any easier. We are invited you to join Church of the Cross, our planting church, for an evening of conversation. Led by members of the congregation, there will be a chance to discuss what we heard in “Politics and the Common Life” and begin exploring what it means to be faithful in Christian political stewardship. Come with your questions and a desire to love one another and honor Christ as Lord of all—including our politics.

As part of our summer series, “We are the Church,” Restoration is partnering on a generosity initiative with Together for Good (TFG). Their mission: “creating pathways for the local church to come alongside vulnerable children and families in Christ-centered ministry.”

We will be providing “Backpacks for Good” that will be gifted to children who often arrive to host families empty handed.

We will view this PBS documentary and then discuss afterwards.

Nokomis East Neighborhood Association (NENA) is hosting a party for the apartment dwellers near Bossen Field. We are sponsoring a table and will be present with games and/or crafts. If you’re interested in helping please contact Molly. Let’s meet some neighbors!

The Walk for MS is THIS SUNDAY! The Restoration Station will be at the Finish Line. So, park anywhere near Minnehaha Falls and head toward the Finish Line. We’ll be cheering on the walkers and handing out medals. Bring signs and any noise makers you want! We’ll be at the cheer station from 8:30-11:30. Come for a little bit or stay for the whole time. Pack a lunch and we’ll picnic afterwards! See you soon!

We’ve reserved all of Salvation Army’s locations at the Mall of America for Bell Ringing! Come join us for a fun way to serve our community. At 4:00, we’ll head over to Rick and Molly’s for an afternoon party of cider. Perhaps someone will hop on the piano for Christmas carols, too!

The Twin Cities Marathon will be running through South Minneapolis, and we want to cheer them on! This is a great opportunity to show support to some of our members who are running, the local neighborhoods, and spread the word about our new Church. 

We will be setting up a Restoration Table complete with water for runners, coffee for fellow spectators, and water for any dogs. We'll also have some small handouts explaining who Restoration is.

We'll meet in the parking lot of the Nokomis Community Center. Be prepared to park in the side streets, and look for our Restoration signs!

At least 6,200 children die each day from hunger related causes (UNICEF). Join us in being a part of the hunger solution! Restoration will be partnering with Church of the Cross and Church of the Redeemer to pack food for Feed My Starving Children at Target Field on Wed.  Sept 20, from 5:30-7:30pm. This is an uplifting experience for all ages! Metro Transit is offering complementary rides so you can avoid the hassle of parking downtown.
