Enrich and deepen your devotional life and your appreciation of Jesus’ songbook with an introduction to Psalm chanting/singing. Laura Clawson will provide handouts and tea as we learn and practice chanting a few Psalms. This is a great opportunity to incorporate a new spiritual practice as we begin our journey through Lent.
The best card game, brought to you by Canada! It's a little bit of poker, a little bit of rummy. We will teach you how to play each phase of the game as we have appetizers and drinks followed by a game of ruckus and the winning of poker chips...and maybe even some real coins. On this winter's eve, we will drink deeply from the wells of culture and attempt a read-through of this epic poem. Bring a copy of Seamus Heaney's translation (currently $1.99 on Kindle!). Glögg or Mead and cider will be on hand, but feel free to supplement with some charcuterie.

Calling all instrumentalists and vocalists wanting to play or learn traditional bluegrass music! We’ll play three or four bluegrass songs, circulated in advance (with recordings) so that most of our time can be spent jamming––at a slow tempo––together. All skill levels and abilities are welcome! Traditional bluegrass instruments are guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and upright bass, but we’re willing to consider some alternative approaches! Facilitated by Andrew Hansen, Kirk Livesay and Derek Boemler.

Tim Johnson will host, and he'll help you navigate the basic equipment needs, sap boiling techniques, filtering, and bottling to help ensure that you get a great final product.

If you have questions about the Gospel’s authenticity or just want to bolster your own faith, please come!
Getting back to work after the holidays can be tough. This seminar seeks after fullness of life in the mix of work's possibilities and hardships. We'll mix teaching, discussion, and prayer as we discuss the place of work in the story of the world, being made in the image of God, and the calling to sacred vocations in secular spaces. This morning seminar will conclude with lunch at a local cafe.
Perhaps the greatest chivalric poem ever written, this 14th century Aurthurian tale has love, beheadings, quests, daring and intrigue! We’ll each take turns reading from Simon Armitage’s translation (which you can pick up used for a few bucks here) while we sip on glogg and and warm cider.
With experience teaching cheese classes around the world, Margaret from Kowalski’s has graciously offered to host a private session for Restoration. We will meet at the Kowalski cheese counter for an evening of cheese tasting and learning how to display cheese artfully.
