Worship Through the Psalms
Blessed be the Lord God, even the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. (Ps 72:18)
Over the course of the next two years, Restoration will be corporately praying and singing through the entire book of Psalms, the hymnbook of the Bible. N.T. Wright says in his book Simply Christian: “The Psalms are inexhaustible, and deserve to be read, said, sung, chanted, whispered, learned by heart, and even shouted from the rooftops. They express all the emotions we are ever likely to feel (including some we hope we may not), and they lay them, raw and open, in the presence of God.”
We will do this through song, through chant, through corporate prayer, through listening, and through other forms of worship. If you’ve never chanted a psalm before, this is a great place to learn how. Feel free to check out this article from David Madeira for more information as well.
We will be holding one of these services every two months on the third Wednesday of the month. Here is the schedule for the ’25-’26 ministry year:
September 17th- Kingship and Covenant
November 19th- Thanksgiving
January 21st- Trust and Comfort
March 18th- Lament
May 20th- Praise and Adoration
If you would like more information please contact Pastor of Worship and Arts, Derek Boemler.
Blessed are the people who have the Lord for their God. (Ps 144:15).
