Ascension to Pentecost Prayer

[Update: Days 6-10 have been added below]

For the next ten days, from Ascension to Pentecost, we invite you to set aside some extra moments for prayer and reflection. Today, we are sharing two wonderful resources from our mother church, Church of the Cross, to help you do just that!

Guided Prayer Through Audio

Andrea Lang, the Pastor of Children's & Family Ministry, has created a 10 minute audio liturgy with the following components:

  • Centering Prayer

  • Daily Theme on the Role of the Holy Spirit

  • Scripture Reading

  • Wondering

  • Prayers for the Church and the World

  • An ancient "body prayer"

  • A benediction

Jesus instructed his disciples to pray and wait in the days between his Ascension and the Spirit’s outpouring on Pentecost. Let’s walk these days like the twelve disciples, in great anticipation, unified for the sake of the church, the world, and the gospel.

Guided Prayer Through Art

Additionally, Molly Ruch has compiled some beautiful artwork of the Ascension, Pentecost, and the Trinity, along with questions for reflection. I believe they will inspire us to hold the truths of these feast days afresh.
