Recap of Ministry Year Kick-Off Meeting

Dear Restoration family,

It was so good to be with many of you at our Ministry Year Kick-Off this past Sunday night! I’m grateful for this church family and all that God is doing among us. For those who couldn’t join us, here are a few highlights.

New Mission Statement

We introduced our new mission statement: “Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus in Word and Deed”.

This mission statement is reflected in our time in Matthew's gospel this summer, and it grows out of Jesus’ own ministry: announcing the good news and healing every disease and affliction (Mt 4:23-25). As his church, we are invited to join Jesus in that work both in what we say and in how we live (Mt 9:35-10:15). This mission statement will give us clarity and focus, helping us consider how our ministries, relationships, and decisions serve the gospel.

Ministry Objectives

With this in view, we shared two objectives for the coming year:

  • Our Gospel Heritage: We’ll explore how our Anglican tradition helps us understand and experience the gospel of Jesus. This includes a teaching weekend with Bishop Ben Fischer, November 7–9, and another class on Anglicanism in the spring.

  • A Place to Proclaim: We are grateful for our building and the people God has brought here, even as space increasingly limits the breadth and depth of our ministry. I am forming a Futures Task Force to explore what kind of facility we need to support our mission and express our values into the future.

Please pray for our church as we take these next steps. It is a privilege to be your pastor, and I am looking forward to the year ahead together.

Yours in Christ,
Father Rick
