Songs of Hope

One of the greatest gifts we have been given during troubling times is the beautiful gift of music. It lifts the soul, heals the heart, and helps unite our spirits to one another and to the Spirit of God.

We’ve thoughtfully put together a list of songs for you to listen to during these times. Whether you’re listening to this playlist by yourself or have it playing throughout the house with your family, we hope you are encouraged to sing the truth about God’s love and his constant presence in and around us.

Some of the songs featured on the playlist are ones that we’ve sung together throughout our young years as a church plant: ”Psalm 126”, ”He Will Hold Me Fast” and ”Trinity Song.”

Others might be new to you but are songs that we hope build your faith during our current cultural climate. ”Psalm 46 (Lord of Hosts)” by Shane and Shane would be a powerful song to get to know as we read and pray Psalm 46 as a Diocese for 46 days. “I Will Exalt You” by Hillsong Worship helps give language to the soul to worship no matter the circumstance. Finally, songs like “Steadfast” by Sandra McCracken remind us of the constant faithfulness of God.

Even in the middle of their quarantine, the Italian people have utilized the gift of music by leaning outside their windows and balconies and singing at the top of their lungs to unite together in solidarity (watch here). How much more can music unite the people of God as we lean into the darkness and sing out the truth of God’s word, shining a light on our own hearts and to the world around us.

Even though we can’t gather, we can still sing together. Be encouraged! And sing!
