Simple Liturgical Changes

Simple Liturgical Changes

Many of our local customs were shaped by the fact that we were a portable church. Our practices and equipment needed to be nimble and basic. Now being settled in a permanent home, we are able to incorporate some more of our vibrant, sacramental heritage into our regular worship. May these subtle changes help stir your heart into greater awareness of the goodness and beauty of God.

Phasing out our Livestream

In March 2020, the world was turned upside down by the Covid Pandemic. Restoration was only two and a half years old when it struck, and because of our nimble, scrappy nature, we were able to quickly deploy creative solutions for connecting our church, which included an excellent Livestream of Sunday Worship. I’m quite proud of our team and what they’ve been able to accomplish these past few years, but it’s now time to phase out the Livestream and to reinforce better ways of fostering sacramental fellowship.

You may have noticed that at Sunday Worship, the sanctuary feels a bit full. We regularly need extra chairs in the side aisle, additional rows of chairs in the back, and extra space in the balcony—and this is all during the winter months. While it’s nice to be full on Sunday mornings, part of living out our value of hospitality is helping visitors and newcomers feel welcome, which means that we need more space.
