ARDF Compassion Project

This year, Restoration raised $16,000 for our Good Friday offering. The recipient is an ARDF development project in Brazil. We are thrilled that The Johnson Family is making a visit there this week. Read below for a description of their trip and please keep them in prayer!

The Johnson Family

We (Andrew, Rosane, James and Francisco) are going to Brazil in June to spend time with our family who lives in Belo Horizonte, located in the central part of the country. On our way, we are going to stop in the northeast region of Brazil to visit a series of Anglican churches in three cities to meet the members of the congregations and visit a few of the community projects operated by the Brazilian Dioceses, including the Compassion Community Center in João Pessoa, to which we dedicated Restoration’s Good Friday offering this year. A few years ago, the Diocese in João Pessoa planted a church in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods. As the church has grown, it has expanded its vision to reach the people of the neighborhood for Christ and to meet their material needs through the Compassion Community Center. The church and the community center have flourished, and they are in the beginning stages of a building project that will dramatically increase the church’s presence in the community.

We are visiting Northeastern Brazil to see what the Anglican community is doing in the region and to build on the relationship between Restoration and the churches in João Pessoa that begin with the Good Friday offering. We ask that you pray for us during our trip. Specifically, that the Holy Spirit would guide our steps, allow us to meet the right people and for safe travels. We also ask for prayer that God gives us the eyes to see what He is doing in Brazil and if there are ways in the future that our church could partner with the Anglican Churches in Northeastern Brazil. We thank you in advance for your prayers and look forward to reporting on our trip when we return.
