Advent begins December 1st, when we get ready to enter the mystery of Christmas. How do you prepare to enter such a wonderful mystery, and how do you help your children do the same? There is no right or wrong way to do Advent, but the practice of slowing down and waiting for our Savior helps us make room in our hearts to wonder at His love. As Ashley Wallace says, “Advent in the home puts the world in its proper place.”

At the end of June, the Children’s Leadership Team and 30+ volunteers executed Restoration’s second annual VBS. The theme was “The Lost Things” and it was such a fun and meaningful few days. Over 60 children were welcomed into a time of learning through the parables of Luke 15, songs, and activities.
Two years ago, during Holy Week of 2020, the Children’s Leadership Team created Holy Week Home Kits for families during the lockdown. This kicked off an epic season of reimagining what Children’s Ministry could look like in a pandemic. Recently, we asked our Children’s Ministry resident, Emily Collings, to reflect on how God led us through these strange times.
